Design of Virtual Vehicle System with Mechanical Steering Response

Sažetak

This paper presents an introspection into the world of simulating vehicle responses from a virtual environment and developing and designing a system to recreate those responses in the real world. Using sophisticated electronic and mechanical control, combined with readily available components, a method is demonstrated for providing realistic feedback to the user. With the use of rapid prototyping techniques along with 3D modelling specific geometries, mechanical interactions were able to be incorporated into the final prototype. The electronic control is based on field-oriented control which provides the system with a highly flexible and stable response in a closed loop manner.
