This session brings together a number of postdigital voices and perspectives to examine the extent to which ubiquitous and mobile technologies represent both epistemic change for the urbanised societies of the global North and an epistemicidal threat to the marginal cultures of the global South. It draws on collaborative research exploring the possibilities, challenges and tensions we face as humans in our interactions with data in our individual contexts and cultures and the implications for how we address disadvantage and social justice. At the same time, it offers an approach for facilitating postdigital dialogue around these crucial issues for others to adopt, adapt and extend.
