The role of tourism in entrepreneurship development in peripheral areas of Republic of Croatia – the case of the Knin area

This paper evaluates the possibility of tourism development in the Knin area. There is an obvious opportunity to develop tourism in this area, as well as need for it, as the generator of overall economy, that is at the very low level in the present time. It is necessary to provide a sound strategic and planning framework, to ensure that this growth brings benefit to the local economy, while helping to conserve this area's distinctive natural and cultural heritage.
