Sažetak
This paper analyzes the power system, its main components and the factors affecting its stability, such as sudden load changes, faults, and disturbances. Furthermore, it explains the operating principles of hydroelectric power plants and provides a detailed description of their components. Special attention is given to the role of hydroelectric power plants in stabilizing the power system, particularly focusing on storage hydroelectric power plants as key elements for frequency and power exchange regulation. Finally, the advantages and disadvantages of hydroelectric power plants compared to other energy sources are discussed.
