The interaction between two isolated adjecent solitons (soliton pair) in the optical fiber transmission is observed. Equations of motion and parameters which influence soliton pair behaviour are listed. Soliton pair with equal and unequal pulse amplitudes, as well as soliton pair propagation in the system with and without periodic amplification are analyzed. The limitations on system bit rate and length due to soliton pair interaction are given.
