Security challenges of Wi-Fi connected beer cooler and serving IIoT device

Internet of Things (IoT) solutions have found their place in various industries, defining a subdomain of Industrial IoT - IIoT. One of those industries is food and drinks services. In an environment of high frequency of people and commonly poor network security settings, there is a question of level of security for those IoT implementations. This paper will focus on an example of beer cooler and serving unit IoT device in food and drinks service industry. The device is equipped with various sensors and connected to the cloud service via Wi-Fi connection. This paper gives an overview of relevant potential vulnerabilities, threats and mitigation techniques of Wi-Fi connected beer cooler and serving unit.
