Sažetak

Timing jitter in the soliton arrival times due to Gordon-Haus effect limits the channel bit-rates. The limit can be partially overcome with the combination of the in-line optical phased conjugation, and by addional external manipulation in the time domain, and in the frequency domain. Synchronous modulation removes most of the timing jitter, it is also effective in reducing the amplifier noise and in preventing interactions between soliton pulses, stabilizing their positions. A band pass optical filter installed into the transmission line will control and stabilize the pulses against the jitter.
