Optical Pulse Propagation Modeling in Nonlinear Dispersive Media

Sažetak

We have developed a computer program for simulation of propagation of optical pulses in linear and nonlinear dispersive media with or without losses. Finite difference numerical methods were used for modeling the propagation equations (nonlinear partial differential equations). The abilities of the program are demonstrated on computing the propagation of Gaussian pulses and soliton pulses (fundamental soliton, higher-order soliton and two co-propagating solitons) through optical fibers.
