In this paper, we present the work on Model Requirements for the Management of Electronic Records (MoReq2) specification. MoReq2 is a catalogue of generic requirements for an electronic records management system. MoReq2 builds on the earlier MoReq, which was published in 2001. It is intended for use throughout the European Union, though in practice it can be applied elsewhere. First, we introduce Enterprise Records Management (ERM) systems by explaining what record is, and what ERM key characteristics are. The short overview of most popular European standards for managing electronic records is given, as well as standard specifications, its purpose, organization and content.
