Measurements of Speech Quality on VoIP Network
Sažetak
Transmission of voice over the network which use internet protocol (IP) for data transmission (VoIP), grows in research and application. IP networks are originally built to support non real-time applications which are not sensitive to delay or delay variation. In IP networks packets moves through the network individually, and different packets may take different paths through the mesh of routers and switches. In VoIP applications, the packetization of voice happens in real time. Although real-time speech has a reasonably low bandwidth requirement, the nature of packet switched network affects speech quality. This paper discuss about correlation of speech quality and available network bandwidth.
