Historic Buildings and Thermal Protection

Zoran Veršić

Sažetak

In dealing with structures registered as historic and cultural monuments, the imperative of maintaining their original appearance, structure and materials should have absolute priority over the demand for optimal thermal conditions and maximal energy saving. However, it is essential that the basic physical requirements be attained: it is necessary to secure that the use of such buildings and established new microclimatic conditions, do not lead to possible construction damages and eventual negative implications for the quality of life in such spaces.
