Geometrical measurements of diacritical dcroat sign
Sažetak
Croatian and Vietnamese dcroat sign shows a unique case of typographic solution which forms the subject in this article as quantitative and qualitative discussion in the design of modern fonts. The task of solving the issue of letter design that are not present in other Latin scripts and are composed of body and diacritical mark. The goal of letter design is recognition, and diacritical marks must assume eigenvalue of the letter form from the font family concerned. Based on the assumptions of dcroat character design, following measure-ments were conducted: thickness, vertical and horizontal positi-oning. Measuring geometry of diacritical mark on dcroat in different fonts and font-families establishes most common practices in order to enable proper diacritical design for legibility purposes.
