Since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, first-hand testimonies and analyses have focused to what has been lost in the sudden pivot to ‘emergency remote learning’ (Hodges et al., Citation2020). Google Scholar search returns almost half a million publications on the topicFootnote1 including the influential report by McKinsey & Company stating that “[n]ew evidence shows that the shutdowns caused by COVID-19 [in the US] could exacerbate existing achievement gaps” and the resulting “hurt could last a lifetime” (Dorn et al., Citation2020, p. 1).
