Sažetak

Hybrid autonomous power supply (HAPS) systems integrate various devices for generation of electric energy from renewable sources (wind generators, photovoltaic modules, fuel cells). They are generally independent, selfsufficient offgrid systems suitable for power supply in remote areas. Produced energy is stored in batteries to secure autonomy of the system. In such systems the crucial task is optimizing the production from all energy sources. Batteries play an important role in reducing electrical energy supply uncertainties in isolated power systems. Statistical data show that more than 85% failures in various autonomous power supply systems come from poor battery management system, making energy management a key element of the system. Energy management system uses advanced control system algorithms to ensure optimal utilization of each one of renewable sources depending on their current availability.
