Sažetak

In modern industries many structures, at some stage of their work, come into contact with the heated seawater. Corrosion, usually pitting, occurs on the walls of these structures, and can quickly lead from and aesthetics impairment to deeper damage, resulting in leakage and sometimes shutdown of the entire plants. This paper describes an experiment in which electrochemical studies were performed on stainless steels W.Nr. 1.4404, W.Nr. 1.4462 and W.Nr. 1.4466 compared with alloys W.Nr. 2.0882, W.Nr. 2.4360 and W.Nr. 2.4605 in artificial sea water at temperatures (22±2) °C and (50±2) °C with stirring. Corrosion rate vcorr, corrosion potential Ecorr and resistance of metals Rp were determined. The results show that the alloy W.Nr. 2.4605 may be used in the sea water at (22±2) °C and (50±2) °C.
