Development of the Device and Mobile Application for Collecting, Analyzing and Displaying Vehicle Diagnostic Data

Sažetak

The paper presents the hardware and software development of the device, which enables the collection of vehicle diagnostic data as well as a mobile application for visualization of collected data. In addition, the application adds the corresponding geographic coordinates of the vehicle and the current time stamp to the collected diagnostic data. The emphasis of the paper is on data collection using the CAN interface and data processing based on a microcontroller. The mobile application operates under an open-source framework and can be part of the educational process for further application development and for conducting hardwareoriented laboratory exercises. Testing the functionality of the device and the mobile application was confirmed on driving routes near the City of Zagreb.
