The impact of traffic on modern society is immeasurable. The transport sector is one of the fastest growing industries in the world, as well as in Croatia. The emissions of CO2 in Croatia by traffic road are about 3 million ton. The transport sector is also the most significant energy consumer with over 30 percent in the total consumption structure, with a tendency to growth in the future. This paper presents a comparison of electric vehicles with conventional petrol and diesel vehicles and hybrid vehicles, based on kilometers traveled, fuel consumption data, fuel prices, CO2 emissions, and the amount of forest needed to absorb a certain amount of CO2. This vehicles are also divided into three categories, depending on the how many kilometers they travel.
