Corrosion properties of alluminium alloy produced by wire and arc additive manufacturing (WAAM)
Sažetak
Aluminum alloys are increasingly used today due to their good mechanical characteristics and corrosion resistance. Process that represents a wider application of aluminum alloys, for development of new materials is Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing. The paper describes the properties, limitations and weldability of aluminum alloys. Also, the features of additive production and their advantages are presented, and WAAM technology with aluminum alloys is described. In the experimental part with WAAM technology, test specimens were made of two aluminum alloys using two welding procedures. The chemical composition of designed samples was examined, and macro and micro analysis of the surfaces was performed. Electrochemical tests, corrosion resistance testing of samples in the salt spray chamber were carried out and the results between different materials, welding procedures and surface condition were analyzed and compared. It was determined that the application of WAAM technology did not impair the corrosion properties of aluminum alloy.
