The problems of corrosion and corrosion protection of construction materials in the marine environment are a major concern for the study of experts dealing with corrosion and materials protection. When it comes to the protection of such structures, for example, oil and other terminals or offshore structures, especially in the splash zone, the corrosion processes are so intensive that the requirements for protection of these parts of the structure increase. This paper gives an outline of the basic mechanisms of corrosion processes of submerged structures and some of the modern technological solutions of protection.
