Development trend of science and technology today has much steeper growth than a few years or decades ago, especially in the field of ICT. Topics such as Data mining, Cloud computing, Big data or Database Management were in their infancy, and today they are inevitable in the daily work of ICT experts.
Most higher education institutions run approved and accredited study programs for several years without significant changes. Minor changes in the content of individual course topics can be made every year, if this does not affect the achievement of defined learning outcomes, which partially enables teachers to innovate their lectures and introduce students to new and current technological achievements of today. The introduction of completely new courses and changes to existing ones to a greater extent requires the implementation of prescribed procedures.
The Department of Electrical Engineering of the University North is currently in the process of amending and supplementing the study program, largely forced by the increasing development of technology. Therefore, it is planned to introduce new and modernize existing courses in the field of ICT, such as Programming and Algorithms, Database Management, Programming Tools in Electrical Engineering, Web Programming and IoT, Introduction to Artificial Intelligence.
