Sažetak

This research is focused on the immigrant adolescents with the experience of being refugees from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo and Serbia to Croatia. This vulnerable and young population was faced with the double challenge: the integration of personal traumatic experiences and the definition of identities within and between immigrant and host communities. The main objective of the work was to understand the construction of social and cultural boundaries between the immigrant and host youth based on ethnical representations and social distances. The specific objectives were: a) to research the structure, content and predictors of ethnic identification in different social, cultural and political contexts in Croatia ; b) to research the degree of acculturation at the level of psychological and social adaptation.
