An Analysis of Strengthened Ductile Iron Manufacturing

Performance of some heat treatment for ductile iron strengthening was considerate. An own original experiment of ductile iron GGG-500 strengthening by austempering was done. The mechanical properties test and microstructure evaluation of this austempered ductile iron was done. Results verified that higher value of mechanical properties has austempered ductile iron than the ductile iron treated by classical manner of strengthening. Results shows that accurate definition of heat treatment parameters has great importance in achievement of good rate between hardness and toughness of austempered ductile iron.
