Sažetak

Segments of Intelligent Transport Systems along the road infrastructure requires reliable and independent power source. Modern approach involves deployment of stationary solar panels that feeds local battery, thus smoothing temporal irregularities in solar panel output. Here we present the study of a solar panel-charged battery voltage dynamics in relation to observed insolation parameters. Exploratory data analysis suggested linear relationship between the observed solar panel-charged battery voltage and related insolation descriptors. A multivariate linear model was developed based on exploratory data analysis that successfully describes relation between the battery voltage and the insolation-related predictors. Performance of the model was validated using a separate experimental data set. Developed model will be integrated within the larger one, aimed at description and control of a micro-smart grid tailored for specific purposes such as Intelligent Transport Systems and deployment for island communities.
