On a Relation Related to Strong Birkhoff–James Orthogonality

We present a version of Birkhoff–James orthogonality in the C*-algebra of all bounded linear operators on a finite-dimensional Hilbert space. We obtain a characterization of this relation and use it to describe some classes of operators. We also characterize linear preservers of this type of orthogonality.
