Sažetak
The Book of Abstracts presents research contributions from the 4th International Scientific Doctoral Conference “Research in Environmental Engineering”, organized by the University of Zagreb Faculty of Geotechnical Engineering within the Doctoral Study Programme in Environmental Engineering. The publication reflects the interdisciplinary character of contemporary environmental engineering and brings together research addressing current environmental challenges from both scientific and engineering perspectives.
The contributions cover a broad range of topics, including water protection and sustainable water management, water quality monitoring, wastewater treatment, climate change adaptation and flood risk management, waste management and circular economy, geoengineering and sustainable use of materials, air pollution and indoor air quality, as well as climate change mitigation and life-cycle assessment of buildings. Particular attention is given to innovative monitoring and modelling approaches, nature-based solutions, resource efficiency, environmental health, decarbonisation and sustainable building practices. The presented research demonstrates the importance of integrating technological, environmental and interdisciplinary approaches in developing solutions for a more sustainable and climate-resilient built and natural environment
