Artificial Intelligence as a Time-Efficiency Enabler in Academic Assessment Practices
Sažetak
This study examines the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools in higher education with a focus on perceived time efficiency in assessment and learning management processes. A quantitative research approach was employed using a structured survey administered to teaching staff in higher education institutions. The study analyzed the frequency of AI tool usage, perceived efficiency gains in grading and feedback generation, and the role of AI-enhanced learning management system (LMS) analytics in monitoring student progress. The results showed that AI-based tools are most frequently used for grading assistance, automated feedback generation, and administrative support within LMS platforms. Respondents reported significant perceived time savings in repetitive grading tasks and standardized feedback processes. AI-enhanced LMS analytics were additionally recognized as valuable for identifying at-risk students and supporting data-informed instructional decision-making.Although participants generally expressed positive attitudes toward AI adoption, the findings also highlighted the importance of institutional support, instructor training, and critical evaluation of AI-generated outputs. The study contributes to a better understanding of AI adoption patterns among teaching staff and provides practical implications for responsible and effective implementation of AI technologies in higher education.
