Sažetak

One of the biggest issues for rotating machines operators is obtaining quality data that indicate machine condition. Measuring values directly on a machine rotor can detect major problems in progress, but retrieving these data is very challenging. Not only it is necessary to assure continuous power source for the measuring device, but it is also required to transmit the data to the end user. When installed on synchronous machines the monitoring device can be powered from the excitation, but this is not the case with induction machines. The solution is our in-house designed self-powering device that harvests magnetic field pulsation within an air-gap. This ensures enough energy for powering various measurement equipment installed on rotor. The system is a complete solution for monitoring of mechanical, electromagnetic and heat values of the rotor (e.g. magnetic field, temperature, excitation current and voltage, etc.). The solution can therefore be equally applied with synchronous and asynchronous machines. This paper presents the system based on three advanced concepts: 1. Self-powering of the monitoring device and sensors using Energy Harvester®, 2. Detection of machine fault using special sensors and fault detection method, 3. Wireless distribution of the obtained data to the end user.
