Sažetak

An overview of the PI controller design methods is given. The procedure of the PI controller design using dominant poles method is described. In literature the dominant poles method is applied for determination of controller parameters for processes with gain coefficient and dominant time constant equal to unity, and with given values of relative damping coefficient and undamped system frequency. In this paper the dominant poles method is applied for determination of normalized PI controller parameters and normalized processes of first and second order with different overshoots and times of response maximum with respect to reference signal. That procedure enables the usage of calculation results for determination of controller parameters with different values of process parameters. Besides that, a modification procedure of dominant poles method is elaborated to obtain the most favorable controller parameters. The procedure results in better compensation of disturbance signal as well as the given overshoot and the fastest response with respect to the reference signal. System responses on the change of reference and disturbance signals obtained by computer simulation are given in the paper, with different values of controller parameters.
