The paper describes calculation of the resistance of induction motor end rings by means of a 2-dimensional finite-element method. The end ring current field is calculated in order to determine substitute star resistance Rs and substitute polygon resistance Rp. Finally, equivalent polygon resistance Rqν is determined for a given induction space harmonic.
