This paper gives a survey of the current situation regarding the issue of terrorism after the killing of Osama bin Laden. Overall security state is viewed from the point of global security and then from the point of regional fighting against terrorism. In a conclusion, the paper analyzes the implications of geopolitical position of the Republic of Croatia and the impact of interconnection between various forms of criminal deeds and terrorist activities. The paper also analyzes pre-requisites needed for systematic approach in combating terrorism at national level. The main idea expressed in the paper is the necessity to work out risk analysis with regard to building in the information communications technologies (ICT) in critical national infrastructure since the ICT abuse today is becoming more expressed form of terrorist activities.
