Sažetak

The article presents the results of numerical analyses of the welding process of butt joints of S460MC and S460NL steel sheets carried out with the use of the VisualWeld (SYSWELD) package. After calibrating the heat source model, thermometallurgical and mechanical analysis was performed. The analyses used material databases developed based on real experiments and measurements of the properties of these materials. The results of welding analyses were compared to the results of selected tests performed on real welded samples. Comparison of hardness and deformation distributions of welded sheets allowed to demonstrate the importance of calibrating the heat source model and the correct preparation of the material database for numerical calculations, as well as considering the occurring phase transitions in the conducted analyses.
