The paper shows the performance and application of the matrix-based configurator in configuration and change management in the design of cooling stations. It is based on configuration matrices that are used for the representation of modular configurable product systems. In practice, they have also proven to be an excellent visual tool for managing changes to configuration knowledge. The paper presents the structure of the configurator and the entire environment. The product configurator is designed in such a way that the customer can select the product themselves, i.e. it is customer-oriented. Program can connect the customers' wishes and give the possibility to select the most acceptable products, with the specification of all parts, their structure and the accompanying technical documentation. A case study is given of the product selection and validation of air-cooled and water-cooled chillers.
