Sažetak
This paper examines the effect of surface roughness and TiN deposition temperature on coating adhesion and electrochemical behavior of AISI 316 stainless steel. Surface roughness was evaluated using Ra, Rz, and Rmax parameters; samples A01 and B had higher Ra, while C and D showed lower Ra but higher Rz and Rmax due to isolated peaks and valleys. TiN coatings on samples B, C, and D (520 °C, 540 °C, 560 °C) exhibited excellent adhesion per VDI 3198:2003, with no delamination. Electrochemical tests revealed pitting corrosion with partial repassivation for A01 and B samples, while C and D showed no pit initiation in the tested range, although persistent surface changes were observed. Overall, samples C and D achieved the best performance, combining smooth average surfaces, strong coating adhesion, and enhanced resistance to pitting.
