Sažetak

The paper investigates methods for the thickness measurements of the direct current plasma assisted chemical vapor deposition TiN/TiCN coating applied to substrate of hardened and tempered tool steel for cold work grade X153CrMoV12. The developed coating is composed from a TiN sublayer and the TiCN as upper layer. The base coating properties have been characterized by examination of the surface roughness, chemical composition and thickness. The thickness of the sublayer and upper layer of the same TiN/TiCN coating was determined by the four methods: the ball grinding test (calotest ), the scanning electron microscopy (SEM), the energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) and by the quantitative depth profile analysis using glow discharge optical emission spectroscopy (GDOES). Results of measurements were statistically analize in aim to evaluate the accuracy and reliability of tested methods
