Anthropological characteristics of pupils from urban and rural area from 7 to 9 years of age
Sažetak
Transversal research was conducted on a convenience sample of 130 primary school pupils attending grades 1 to 3. The research has shown that the pupils living in Suhopolje and those living in Zagreb differ in both morphological and motor areas, which is explained as the difference between living condition in urban and rural surroundings. The increase in discrimination according to local criterion is observable and it can be explained as a longer effect of the environment on both morphological and motor development. In fact, in 2005 the population of Zagreb in relation to the Republic of Croatia was 17.64%. The migration of the population into the cities is an unfavourable circumstance for the equal development, even from a demographic point of view. It imposes on the majority of Croatian population poor conditions both from environmental and kinesiological point of view.
