This paper describes the global positioning system, its basic characteristics and measurement methods, as the main part of an Intelligent Transport system, as well as the wireless networks and control system. Modern telecommunication infrastructure in the Republic of Croatia is a great advantage. The Croatian telecom operator has interest in offering new services in the Intelligent Transport system. The second part of the paper shows that the Republic of Croatia is an integral part of Europe. The Croatian Integral and Intelligent Transport System, therefore, has to be developed in the same direction as the European one.
