This paper gives an overview of videoconferencing system technologies and applications in health care and telemedicine. Benefits of applying of these systems in order to increase the health care quality, and to improve the medical staff educational quality are discussed. An example of applying videoconferencing in diagnostics and treatment is given. The proposal of the videoconferencing system for the Emergency Service in the County of Split and Dalmatia is described. At the end the videoconferencing system for medical staff education is presented.
