Development and Evaluation of Addo: A Mobile Learning Tool for Early Arithmetic Education
Sažetak
This poster outlines the development and evaluation of Addo, a mobile application designed to support the learning of basic arithmetic operations– specifically addition and subtraction– among early primary school students. The application aims to enhance both mathematical understanding and early computational thinking. The app was evaluated through a pilot study involving 72 first-grade students at Kajzerica Primary School. The evaluation employed a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods, including pre and post-tests to assess mathematical progress, as well as structured observation and teacher feedback to gauge usability and engagement. Special attention was given to students’ understanding of the commutative property of addition. The findings provide insight into the effectiveness of mobile learning tools in supporting foundational mathematical concepts in early education.
