Sažetak

The paper deals with the contribudon of the short-circuiting ring in the rotor celtre to improved cage induclion molor characteristics. Losses caused by interbar rotor currents and the unfavourable influence of skevring were reduced. On the other hatrd, the developed machirc torque was increased. Another advantage of the rotor consfiuction with the central ring is the manufacture of long shorter rotols at considerably lower cost and in shorter time compared with copper rotor. A simplified formula is given for the ca.lculation of stray losses depending on more parameters. It is used for more accurate cal lation. Enclosed to the paper are test results o[ one high-voltage Eotor designed and manufactured by the "Končar - Generatori i motori" faciory. Test results cnoform that the motor having the rotor with built-in central ring has better characteristics than the rotor having a stardard rotor. It is sutgested that the windings of rotor of great length should be made of aluminium in combination with the central ring replacing the expensive copper, because of their proved advantages and lower cost, with unchanged machine properties.
