Sažetak

Various engineering approaches can be used to model confined masonry walls. This paper focuses on a study which primary objective is to analyse a wall's behaviour under different loads and observe displacement and internal forces within the masonry wall. Four numerical models are created to evaluate wall’s performance and to compare results of different modelling approaches. Models are created using SCIA Engineer 22.1 software. The non-linear model is considered a the reference model due to masonry construction's nonhomogeneous nature and weak tension strength. The study is performed in 2D plain, allowing for a comprehensive analysis of the wall's behaviour.
This paper presents results of the numerical analysis and compares displacement of the wall top and internal forces among different models. The study also suggests that further research can consider different wall dimensions and thicknesses observing the impact of wall distribution in the 3D model. Overall, the results of this study will be valuable for engineers who want to optimize the design of walls for improved performance and safety.
