Sažetak
The definition of height can be divided into different method depending on their basic measurement principles. We distinguish the hydrostatic, barometric, sea-transition, GNSS, geometric and trigonometric levelling. In the course of maintaining or expanding of the Levelling Network it is sometimes necessary to perform precise transmission of heights over big water surfaces. I the Republic of Croatia, this is the case for example by the compounds between mainland and the nearby lying islands. It can occur target distances of several kilometres. Due to long distances the generally usual method heights by means of geometrical levelling millimetre exactly too transferred, can be excluded here as suitable method. The alternatives to the sea-transition levelling with special equipment, the trigonometric height transfer or the use of GNSS measurement methods are available. Following the positive experience with the transfer of heights between the mainland and the northern Adriatic Islands transfer of the height to the central Adriatic Islands using trigonometric and GNSS levelling method has been done. The final results of the successful trigonometric and GNSS levelling campaign as a set of Benchmark Heights on the central Adriatic Islands are available.
