The intention of this article is to present basic characteristics of Industry 4.0 and Maintenance 4.0. Overview of smart factory and smart production characteristics. Definitions related to Industry 4.0 have been defined and explained together with SMART devices and their connectivity. Different types of connection are used to transfer data between SMART devices. SMART sensors and SMART diagnostic devices provide data. Collection and analyses of these data lead us to the Maintenance 4.0. Characteristic of Maintenance 4.0 are presented together with modern maintenance methods. At the end influence of Industry 4.0 and Maintenance 4.0 to the human is presented.
