The paper analyzes the no-load losses of an induction motor used in a variable speed electric drive. The results obtained by measurements with sinusoidal voltage and with a frequency converter are compared to those obtained by calculation. Possible reasons for deviations are stated and recommendations for the correct selection of input parameters for the calculation are given.
