Sažetak

The paper provides an overview of the types of synchronous machines with permanent magnets. An energy conversion system using a high-speed turbine direct coupled with permanent magnet synchronous generator is described. Using the example of a permanent magnet generator, a model of the generator was created in the MagNet software tool using FEM. Due to the high speed of rotor, and thus the high frequency of electric parameters, special attention was given to the properties of materials embedded in the machine e.d. the selection of magnets and magnetic sheets. Simulation of operation at no load and at full load of the generator were performed. Results of both of those tests gave the insight into the electromagnetic conditions inside the generator and they came up as satisfactory considering power and efficiency at the nominal speed
