Vibration analysis of high voltage motor winding
Sažetak
This paper presents a comprehensive vibration and strength assessment methodology for stator windings of
two-pole high-voltage asynchronous machine. The purpose of this methodology is to avoid the risk of resonance, catastrophic
failures caused by insulation abrasion due to excessive vibrations, or cracking in copper conductors.
The methodology consists of the following steps: fabrication and mechanical testing of full-size test coils, bump tests of the
fully assembled stator, numerical simulation of electromagnetic forces on stator end coils using a 3D model, pre-stressed
modal analysis, verification of natural frequencies and mode shapes against bump test data, numerical transient vibration
analysis and assessment of vibration amplitudes against IEEE Std 1129-2014 recommended values, detailed numerical stress
analysis of copper conductors and the main insulation using the submodeling technique, and strength assessment based on
experimentally determined material strength limits.
