Comparison from invasive and non-invasive method
Sažetak
The rate of pressure rise (dp/dt) in the right ventricle (RV) is well recognized parameter for the validation of RV systolic function. It is useful for a follow up of patients with right heart disease. It can be obtained invasively from measured RV pressure (obtained by catheterization of RV) or it can be estimated from the ascending limb of tricuspid regurgitation (TR) continuous wave Doppler signal [1]. It is known that there are a number of error sources in measurement of RV pressure by water filled catheter, and one of them is signal distortion due to wave traveling along the catheter. In this paper we consider the pressure signal distortion in the catheter and propose a certain correction. We are going to compare results for dp/dt from the non-invasive method versus the invasive ones (one based on raw pressure data, and the other on corrected pressure) in cases of two patients with clear clinical indication for right heart catheterization.
